Chris Davis - Manufacturing Technician
What is your title at Haigh-Farr and what are your main responsibilities?
I am a Manufacturing Technician who supports George’s programs.
Brief Career History/Career Highlights or Proudest Moment?
Before working at Haigh-Farr I was a Computer-aided Manufacturing Engineer or CAM Engineer in the circuit board industry. I modified the circuit boards for manufacturing then released all of the Gerber files (films), CNC files, and AOI and test data to the floor.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to hike and have hiked Mountains such as Mt. Washington, Mt. Lafayette and Yosemite in CA (Yosemite was easier (all switchbacks) than some of the NH mountains!). I am a certified scuba diver and have done dives throughout NE such as the Isles of Shoals and Nubble Light in Maine. My deepest dive was 105’ to a shipwreck off of Key West. Other than Hiking and Scuba Diving, I like to ski, kayak and travel.What is the best thing about your job or working for Haigh-Farr?
Being able to work independently to the best of my ability.What is a fact about you no one knows?
A Fun fact about me is: That I am a direct descendant of Mayflower pilgrims William and Mary Brewster who sat at the first Thanksgiving dinner in October,1621.
What is your favorite movie/book/song and why? Or what was the worst?
Favorite Book: Four Lords of the Diamond. This is a series of science fiction novels set in the future about space travel, the quest to find habitable planets. The four planets in the diamond are used as prisons system as once you arrive you can never leave.
Favorite spot you have visited or dream trip?
Switzerland – I spent 5 weeks traveling Europe. While driving through the Swiss Alps on the way to Italy I saw the some of the most beautiful scenery.
What was your childhood dream job?
Astronaut and then later a pilot… but my family had other plans and I joined the family business instead.
What is on your bucket list?
To go to space.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Veal Parmesan.
What are you listening to at work?
Variety of music and audio books.
What advice would you give to someone new to Haigh-Farr?
Work hard and pay attention to the details.
